Orange Cake

I baked this orange cake for my dear friend~ Jullie Lim. We celebrated her birthday very much early😅because she would not be around during her birthday month.

Hmm... I forgot to take a picture of the cake😓 So, I post some pictures of us with the cake. 😜




Orange Cake

Ingredients : (Baking pan 18cm/20cm)

3 eggs

Half a teaspoon of vanilla

Sugar 130g (2/3 cup)

Oil 120ml (1/2 cup)

Orange juice 120ml (1/2 cup)

Orange zest

Flour 190g (1 and 1/3 cups)

Baking powder 5g

*For the topping: One orange, squeeze the juice, add half cup of water, add one and a half teaspoon of gelatin powder, bring it to boil. Pour onto the cooled cake once it is slightly cooled. Sprinkle some toasted coconut.

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix eggs, vanilla and sugar until creamy.
  3. Add oil and orange juice and mix.
  4. Add orange zest and mix a little.
  5. Mix flour and baking powder together and sift over the ingredients. Mix well.
  6. Pour the ingredients into a greased mold.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven 180°C (360°F) for 35-45 minutes. Check with a wooden skewer that it is completely cooked.
