CHUI KAO SO 脆烤酥饼

I saw this popular cookie selling in Indonesia from youtube, so I  made this cookie which is similar to our hup tou sou aka walnut cookies. 😉 

The cookie's texture is crispy. 



CHUI KAO SO 脆烤酥饼


Ingredients:

260 gr cake flour

75 gr castor sugar

1/4 tsp baking soda + 1 tbsp water

1/4 tsp baking powder

100 gr vegetable oil

1 egg yolk

50 gr unsalted butter

2 pinches of salt

1/2 tsp vanilla extract 

Polishing : 1 egg yolk + 1/2 tsp oil

Black & white sesame sprinkles


Method:

(1) Add all ingredients  and  mix till form a soft dough.

(2)  Weigh dough 12g each and roll into small round balls and place onto baking tray. 

(3) Slightly press on the cookie to flatten it. 

(4) Egg glaze the cookies and sprinkle some sesame seeds. Bake at 160C for about 25 mins  or until golden colour.

(5) Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
