No oven? No problem! This Steamed Tiramisu Cake only needs a total of 30 minutes of steaming time, and you will get a beautiful layered cake.
The cake is tall and looks beautiful because I cut the cake in half and stacked it up. This cake is not too sweet and tastes good.
Steamed Tiramisu Cake 蒸提拉米苏蛋糕
Ingredients: (Pan size: 20 x 20 x 4 cm)
Cake batter:
3 Eggs
125g Sugar
150g All purpose flour
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
75ml Full cream milk
75ml Vegetable oil
20g Cocoa powder
40g 3 in 1 Instant white cofffee powder
Cheese Layer :
185g Cream Cheese
1 tbsp Sugar
1 Egg
1 tbsp Orange syrup
1 tbsp Water
1 tbsp All purpose flour
Chocolate Glaze:
50g Dark cooking chocolate
50ml Whipping cream
Method:
- Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Add in sifted flour, baking soda and baking powder, and mix well.
- Add in milk and oil and mix well.
- Heat the steamer.
- Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions.
- Mix cocoa powder into one portion of egg batter and mix well.
- Mix 3 in 1 instant white coffee powder into another bowl of egg batter and mix well.
- Lined and greased an 8 inch baking pan .
- Pour the chocolate mixture into prepared pan and place the pans into the steamer and steam over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Making cream cheese batter: Mix well cream cheese and sugar.
- Add in the egg and orange syrup. Mix until well combine. Then add in flour and mix well.
- Pour in the white coffee mixture and steam for 10 minutes.
- Lastly, pour in the cheese mixture and steam for another 10 -15 minutes or until a skewer in the centre comes out clean.
- Making the chocolate ganache: Use double boiling method to melt the dark chocolate and whipping cream. Keep stiring until the chocolate are melting. Keep aside.
- Pour the chocolate ganache on top the cake. Once the chocolate ganache is set, cut and serve.
