Frying Pan Bread~~Chocolate Banana Bread 煎锅面包/巧克力香蕉面包

There are four bananas sitting on the table, so I used them to make buns. These chocolate banana buns are soft and delicious.




Frying Pan Bread~~Chocolate Banana Bread

煎锅面包~~巧克力香蕉面包


Ingredients:

100ml    Lukewarm Water

1 tsp (3g)   Yeast

30g    Sugar

200g   All Purpose Flour

25g     Powdered Milk

1          Egg Yolk

Pinch of salt

20g     Margarine / Butter


Stuffing: Banana and Chocolate Cream*(100g milk chocolate coins)


Method:

  1. Add in the yeast in warm water, and add one teaspoon of sugar(from30g sugar) and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, powdered milk, sugar, egg yolk and yeast mixtures, mix all together with a wooden spoon until it turns into 1 lump.
  3. Add in salt and butter and knead the dough until it turns smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover and let the dough to rise for about 45 minutes - 1 hour or until doubled in size.


Make Buns:

  1. Deflate the dough and knead it for a few minutes. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and roll each piece into a smooth ball. Cover and rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Cut the bananas into half.
  3. Place one dough onto the kneading board, thinly dust the surface with flour, and flatten the dough and shaping it into a flat oval. Repeat with the rest of the dough balls.
  4. Place 1 heaped tablespoon of chocolate cream and a half banana, fold in half to enclose pinching the edges. Put it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the rest of dough. 
  5. Let them rise for 45 mins -1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Heat the non stick frying pan. Place the dough into frying pan and cover with lid, heat up for 4 minutes on low heat. 
  7. Flip the buns and cover with lid, and continue to heat up for another 4 minutes.

Note:

  • If you prefer to use oven, this recipe is also applicable using oven. Bake at 180C for 15-18 minutes.
