A DAY TRIP TO SEKINCHAN 適耕莊:鱼米之乡一日游

The journey to Sekinchan takes 1 and half hour from KL by  car. We departed from Kuala Lumpur at 09:30. But......I keyed in wrongly the destination.....the GPS guided us rounding the Klang~~ Pandan Maran village. Oh dear! Luckily, we used waze to guide us to our destination~~ Sekinchan. And finally, we were here.....

This was the first place we stopped by to have our lunch. It was a satisfying meal.

After lunch, we stopped at a place which drying salted fish.... it was such a fascinating view of salted fish lined under the sun. I like to eat salted fish with fried rice....yum...yum... ^^

This is a famous stall selling sponge egg cake and kuih kapek. 当然不忘了来“阿嬷的家“买传统鸡蛋糕回去咯!

They are busy making the traditional egg rolls.

We visited the fisherman wharf..... but we missed the chance to see the fisherman bringing back his harvest from the sea.

Sekinchan is actually a fishing village, but now is more widely recognized as a famous paddy field instead of a fishing village. Sekinchan population is mainly Chinese. 90% of the Chinese population is Teow Chew. The main economic activities in Bagan is fishing. The fisherman go out to catch fish at the morning about 4-5 am, come back around 5 pm with a lot fresh sea fish and prawn. That was the reason we waited for the returning fisherman to buy the fresh sea fish and prawn.

Don't forget to make a wish at Pantai Redang Beach. Look at the red ribbons on the tree......so beautiful!

Wishing Tree~~ you can make a wish by throwing the red ribbons onto the tree. Whether the wish comes true or not,the tree entangled in red ribbons sure provides a gorgeous backdrop of photos. Ya......snap...snap......how can we missed this fascinating backdrop of photo.

There are a few swing made from recycle plastic chairs under the big tree.

Enjoying the sea breeze... at Pantai Redang~~ A famous visiting spot. 港剧“单恋双城”在这里作为拍摄场景,更是名噪一时。不过,很可惜,我们没有待到傍晚观看日落。

Other than an endless carpet of brilliant green, the paddy field are also the home of swiflets as many swiflets houses are build in the vicinity of the fields. White birds and drangonflies are also part of the ecosystem.

Here, we can drive right beside the paddy fields. There are roads connecting the town with the small village located in the center of the paddy fields. There are also factories which allow visits. The staff will brief you on the paddy plantation process, type of rice and so on. You can also purchase the rice here which is not available in the market. Hmm...... I bought one big pack of rice to home!

~~The End~~😉
