This was the first time I made marmalade. Because there are still many oranges in the fridge, no one wants to eat them after the Chinese New Year has passed ...... Well, I decided to learn how to make mandarin orange marmalade.
Mandarin Orange Marmalade
Ingredients:
3 small bowls of Mandarin oranges
1/2 small bowl of orange peels( cut into strip)
1 small bowl of water
1 small bowl of sugar
1 stick of cinnamon stick
Instructions:
- Peel the Mandarin oranges .Remove as much of the white pith from the peel as possible.
- Chop the peeled oranges into small pieces(Make sure to remove any seeds).
- Place the peels in a small pan with the water and sugar and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce heat, simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- Add orange segments and cinnamon stick to the pot and bring it back to a boil.
- Boil rapidly, uncovered about 10 minutes.Reduce heat to a simmer again and allow to cook for 20 minutes, or until thick and "jammy"; stir often to keep from sticking.
- Remove it from the heat.
- Ladle it into a jar and let cool completely before keep in the fridge.
