Quiche (Ham & Onion)~~乳蛋饼(火腿和洋葱)

Today is father's day. Happy Father's day to all the fathers in the world. 

 My hubby requested quiche for celebrating papa's day. Since he prefer quiche instead of cake.....well, his wishes has granted!! Hehehe.....

 👆This time I made thin crust for this quiche. Everyone likes it!!^^

Quiche (Ham & Onion)~~乳蛋饼(火腿和洋葱)

Pastry:
140g Plain Flour
70g Cold Butter - cut cubes
3-5tbsp Iced Water

Filling:
100g Ham - cut strips
1 Large onion - shredded
3tbp of marinated mince meat(pork/chicken)

3 Eggs - lightly beaten
2cups Fresh milk
1 tsp Garlic - chopped
Pinch of salt
Shredded mozzarella cheese/Cheddar cheese

Pastry:

1.Line a round 10" baking tray.
2.Sift flour into bowl, rub in cold butter until mixture becomes sandy and add in enough water to make ingredients cling together. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth, cover, refrigerate in freezer for about 15 mins.
3.Roll pastry in between a plastic sheet, large enough to line deep to cover baking tray and lightly pass rolling pin over edge and remove the excess pastry. Prick the bottom with a fork.

4.Cover pastry with aluminium foil, fill with dried beans ( I baked the pastry without this method) and bake at preheated oven 180C for 20 mins.



Filling

  1. Fry onion with oil until soft and leave aside.
  2. Fry ham strips and mince meat.
  3. Spread fried mince meat and ham strips evenly over pastry, top with onion.
  4. Combine lightly beaten eggs and milk together with garlic and salt.
  5. Gradually pour egg mixture over onion.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese/Cheddar cheese on top and a dash of pepper.
  7. Bake at 180C for 40 mins.
